Rach’s Gardening with Kids - Tip 1
Posted in ´General´ July 13th, 2009 by Editor 2 in ActionAs promised last week, today we’re starting with the first part of the series ‘tip a day from Rach’, who is going to show us the best ways to get kids into gardening. Rach, take it away!

Now that summer’s finally arrived, it’s fun doing things outside with your kids. But it doesn’t have to be yet another visit to the park, or an expensive trip out. Why not stay closer to home, and get your little ones doing things in your own back garden?
1. Let them pick stuff – whether it’s something they can eat, or some flowers to go in a little vase on the table at tea time. Fruit is brilliant – especially strawberries and raspberries. You can grow some lovely strawberries from a couple of plants in a big pot, or if you have more space then raspberry canes are easy – they do quite well in cold and damp spots. (And if you get too many strawberries/raspberries to cope with, you can always have fun making ice cream)
