Summer is still here and the heat is back in action! Recently we saw a couple of super-useful posts about summer activities.  Netmums have posted a Summer Holidays Activities Guide that includes activities, events, places to go and many-a-pieces of advice on getting organised and having fun through this summer.

Another brilliant resource we stumbled upon is a great blogpost by Babygenie that gives you an entire selection of web services related to children’s activities.

Have a peek, check them out, and have fun fun fun!

Bilingual upbringing can be an adventurous journey both for parents and children. Today we stumbled across a mummy who is bringing up her baby with her German husband and shares the joys of that experience. Her Mummy do that! blog is hosting a bilingual child’s carnival on August 31st, which sounds like it might be a lot of fun to read! Her recent post, ‘out of Cubling’s mouth’ gives examples of how English and German become an interesting mix in her baby’s head, have a peek!

Woofy Birthday to You…

Pets can be best friends to babies and sometimes just become a solid part of our families. Since babies like all kinds of celebrations, pet birthdays can be a perfect excuse to make some pet ‘cake’, sing and have fun with our kids and their pets whether indoors or outdoors. Miss Meep posted a recipe for a dog birthday cake, which she made to celebrate the fourth birthday of her beloved dog, Blod. Check it out!

Here’s the recipe, in case any of your canine friends are having a birthday soon.

One tin of tuna, drained and smushed up with a fork
1 clove of garlic, peeled and crushed
Handful of breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
Some hot dog sausages, to decorate

1. Mix all the ingredients together well.
2. Form the resulting congealed horror into a cake shape.
3. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
4. Allow to cool, then decorate it with the relevant number, made out of hot dog sausages.
5. Add some candles, sing ‘Woofy Birthday’, then present it to your furry friend.

Do you celebrate pet birthdays at home? Feel free to share celebrations tips!
