Worlds Greatest Dad?

Dad instruction Manuals?
Posted in ´General´ January 18th, 2010 by Editor in ActionThis week the government releases its Green Paper on “Families and Relationships” and according to the Guardian it’s going to focus heavily on involving fathers in their offsprings early lives, going so far as to include a “Dad’s Guide” full of helpful hints on breastfeeding and supporting you partner.
Read the full story at The Guardian.
What do you think about this initiative?
Hopefully the last indoor crafts post for a while!
Posted in ´General´ January 13th, 2010 by Editor in ActionIs it just me, or is everyone else completely over the snow ? It was pretty at first but now it’s just making day to day life harder than it needs to be.
While searching for more indoor crafts activities, I came across this “Make an Ice Rink” idea, which as well as looking kind of fun to make can also be used to play with afterwards. Click through for instructions. I’m a massive fan of the tooth pick skates that you add to dolls to allow them to skate on the ice.
I might go and test it out.
Friday Video
Posted in ´General, Problem answered´ January 8th, 2010 by Editor in ActionWe’re going to try and post a video here every Friday, so if you have any recommendations of kid-centric humour do send them our way!
This weeks comes courtesy of Are We Nearly There Yet Mummy, and features a favourite Christmas gift of boys of all ages.
Haha.
What did yours love the most out of everything you got them ?
It keeps on coming…

It’s only a few days in and we’re all already sick of the snow. The kids still seem to be into it though, from the bus today I saw a child being dragged up a particularly icy Holloway Road on a body board (turned into a make shift sled) by his grinning father. I’d like to point out that the boy in question seemed to be having the time of his life too.
With this in mind, take a look at some of our American cousin’s best ever snow sculptures. Don’t get jealous though, they get a lot more practice than us! Check them out at FAMILY FUN, which also features a whole bunch of outdoors snowy family activities.
Snow central!
Posted in ´General, Problem answered, Uncategorized, discovery hunt´ January 5th, 2010 by Editor in ActionWe’re in the midst of the coldest Winter spell in a hundred years, depending on who you listen to. Regardless of this, snow is falling all over the country and many schools are closed.
We’d like to recommend a couple of sites to help you out with ideas if you do end up snowed in!
The first one is MAKE A FLAKE - an interactive flash site where you can make your own snowflakes, with no risk of injury! And then download or email them.
The second is SNOW DAY ACTIVITIES which features some ideas to keep the kids of different ages busy.
Stay warm and have fun!
